Mount Kinabalu, Sabah
At almost 14,000 feet, Mount Kinabalu is the highest mountain in South East Asia and the only mountain of this height anywhere in the world, which never has snow on its summit.
Whilst snow may never fall here, the mountain has cloud cover which rushes in and out throughout every day.  It is this cloud which makes the summit of Mt. Kinabalu hazardous.
In fact this is not a single mountain at all, but a series of peaks forming a range across approx 30 miles.
At the base of the mountain, the research garden is a fascinating place to visit, where are grown many plants which are already recognised as medicinal herbs and many others which are now undergoing research for possible benefits to mankind.  Many of these plants grow nowhere else on earth.
Though the peaks of Mount Kinabalu may be unwelcoming, the foothills are not and there is even a world class golf course here at the Mount Kinabalu Golf and Country Club.
Mount Kinabalu and Kinabalu Park are approximately an hour and a half drive from Sabah's capital city of Kota Kinabalu and are easily accessible for a day trip, which we will be happy to arrange for you if it is not already included in your selected tour.
