NEI (UK)'s Dussera in Mysore, India, October 2010.... welcome..

Day 1 Fly London Heathrow to Bangalore.

Day 2    Arrive Bangalore and transfer and overnight at The Taj West End Hotel.

Day 3 Morning free in Bangalore. Afternoon transfer by road to Mysore.    Overnight Hotel Metropole

Day 4 In the morning take a gentle stroll around the city centre visiting
the local markets, taking in the pervading scent of precious oils used in the
manufacture of the incense sticks for which Mysore is famous; see extraordinary flower garlands being made. In the afternoon visit Chamundi Hill, with its extravagant temple, and fabulous views over the city of Mysore spread out on the plain below. Don’t forget to visit the Shiva Nandi bull.

Day 5 Take your seats in the grandstand outside the Town Hall for a full day in Mysore for the Final day Dussera Procession.    Overnight Hotel Metropole

Day 6 A full day sightseeing including Somnathpur’s amazing Hoysala Temple, elaborately carved from black basalt rock and travel on to the plains at Srirangapatnam, to see the Hunting Lodge which once belonged to Tipu Sultan and the site of the famous, decisive battle between his forces and the British forces under Wellesley. Day 7 At leisure in Mysore. A ‘please yourself’ day. Overnight Hotel Metropole

Day 8 Transfer to Bangalore for your return flight to the UK, or, travel by road to the Lodge in Nagarhole for a 2 days safari and wildlife experience.

Since you are already in the area, may we suggest a 2 night safari at the famous Nagarhole Game Reserve.   If you are interested
in wildlife this is definitely the place for you - and you stand
a good chance of seeing tigers at this reserve as it has a
larger number of tigers per hectare than any other reserve
in India.

We suggest a two night stay, but you can stay longer if you wish.
